THE RESET

An at-home restorative teacher retreat

with Angela Watson

After THIS school year? Your nervous system needs a reset.

You can't remember the last time you finished a thought without interruption. You’ve been holding it together with caffeine and adrenaline, and your nervous system has been white-knuckling it for ten months straight. This is the weekend to let it all go.

No expensive travel.

You can do this from your home or any comfortable place (even a friend's house!) I'll show you how to easily create a peaceful space in the room of your choice (with items you already own) so you can tune out distractions.

No need to abandon your life.

Ideally this weekend is just for you, but ideal circumstances aren't required. You can easily fit in caregiving tasks or other commitments if needed. You'll feel the benefits from just a few blocks of time dedicated to restorative practices.

No fixed schedule.

Everything is optional. There's no meetings to attend or time zones to navigate. Just explore the experiences whenever you want, leaving lots of time for naps and snacks. I'll have suggested itineraries to guide you.

Imagine what YOUR reset could look like ...

  • You, in one dedicated, distraction-free spot in your home
  • Morning stretching and reflections
  • Mindfulness practice outside in nature
  • Walking/hiking while listening to insightful audio
  • Breath work, meditation, and/or sound baths
  • Insights about how to calm your nervous system
  • Journaling or daydreaming
  • Unstructured time for the pool, reading, sleeping, making art, or anything else that restores you
RETREAT EXPERIENCES

Build your own flexible itinerary

Everything is on-demand, so you can move at your own pace, and leave plenty of time for naps and snacks.

Stretching & Restorative Yoga

You lie on the floor propped up with pillows and blankets in positions that look like very fancy napping. Add essential oils if you'd like! Your body stays in each pose for several minutes while your muscles slowly let go of tension they've been holding for months. You don't need flexibility, strength, or any prior experience, and it will leave your muscles feeling totally relaxed.

Sound Meditation

Find a comfortable position, lean back, and close your eyes while you listen to instruments (like crystal bowls, gongs, and chimes) played in a way that gently slows your brainwaves. The sustained tones do something to your nervous system that you can feel almost immediately: your breathing slows, your shoulders drop, your mind goes quiet. It's like a meditation session, but you’re guided with instruments rather than words.

Forest Bathing / Nature Mindfulness

You can do this in the woods, a park ,or even in your own backyard. I'll walk you through a sequence of sensory invitations that help you slow down and actually notice what's around you: the texture of bark, the sound of wind, the sme20has proven effects on cortisol, blood pressure, and immune function. Twenty minutes outside can change your body chemistry in real, measurable ways.

Breathwork Techniques

I'll teach you how to activate your parasympathetic nervous system on command (and explain exactly what that means). We'll practice breathing techniques you can reach for in your car after a hard day, in bed when you can't sleep, or before a difficult parent meeting.

Nervous System Mini-Seminars

Take a jog, bike ride, or other enjoyable movement while listening to these short audios. You'll understand exactly what's happening in your body during a stressful school day, why you feel the way you feel, and how to send the "all clear" signal so you can calm down again. If you enjoy journaling, prompts and reflection practices are included.

Yoga Nidra & Guided Rest

We’ll create and release tension in each area of the body, and then I'll guide you into accessing that blissful state between being awake and asleep. Research shows that 20-30 minutes of yoga nidra can leave your body as restored as several hours of regular sleep. I practice yoga nidra myself every Friday night it’s the perfect way to unwind.
